Wes grew up the fourth child of a Navy man turned TV-repair shop owner turned preacher — moving from Florida's panhandle to Atlanta before faith, music, and family shaped the rest of his story.
Today he pastors a small church in rural Kentucky, writes about the doubts and detours of faith, sings in a voice trained for the concert stage, and still chases quarter-mile times in a car he rebuilt with his own hands.

Since the first Sunday of July 2021, Wes has pastored Campbellsburg Baptist Church in Campbellsburg, Kentucky — the latest church in a ministry that began in 1984 and has carried him through Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

SOUND
Wes earned his Bachelor of Music in Sacred Music with a vocal emphasis — competing and placing in regional NATS voice competitions long before he ever picked up a pulpit full-time.

MATTERS.
In 2002, the boy who fell in love with his brother's 1968 Camaro Z28 finally bought his own — a 1995 Z28 Convertible. He rebuilt the engine himself, port-and-polished the heads, and took it to the dyno.

THE MAN BEHIND THE STORY.
1993
Beginnings
Born the fourth child of Fred and Hattie Brockway, Wes grew up between Alabama and Florida's panhandle as his father moved from television repair into the ministry. He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and headed to Atlanta for DeVry's Electronic Technology program.
1976
FAMILY
Wes met Susan Elizabeth Evans while singing with Sonlight, the college ensemble at First Baptist Church of Atlanta. They married on January 10, 1976, and now have two children, Glynn and Jessica, and six grandchildren, with the whole family in the Louisville, KY area.
1984
THE CALL
While serving as part-time Minister of Music at Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA, Wes felt God call him into full-time ministry. He pursued theological and music training at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, then The University of the Cumberlands and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
2001
BUILDING
As Pastor of Davis Memorial — later renamed Lakeside Baptist Church — Wes led the congregation in building a 28,000 sq ft complex on 17 acres in Jeffersontown, KY, including Lakeside Academy, a child care center that grew to 120 children and 25 employees.
2021
CAMPELLSBURG
After a season of semi-retirement, Wes was asked to preach a single Sunday at Campbellsburg Baptist Church. One Sunday became a month, then a call as Transitional Pastor, then — in January 2022 — permanent Pastor. He also builds his own computers, wired the church for broadcast, and has built decks, cabinets, and a storage shed with his own two hands.
